The Hunter Valley

Hunter Olives - our story

Hunter Olives is the trading name of Hunter Boutique Olive Growers Pty Ltd, a company that was established in late 2005 by a group of olive growers who recognized that there was a significant, emerging need for processing and distribution services for olives.

You may call us one-eyed but we are all greatly attached to the Hunter Valley and we want our products to enhance the standing of the region. Our trading name, Hunter Olives, is intended to support this.

Early in 2006 we established premises on site at the newly re-developed Adina Vineyard and Olive Grove. We are located next to the Adina Olive Mill from which we contract oil processing services.

Our processing facilities are modern and comply with relevant food processing regulations. We are introducing HACCP in each aspect of what we do and have an on-going commitment to quality control.

Our aim is to provide premium product at competitive prices. Our products are sought after by chefs and caterers as well as being available in fine food stores. Click here to learn about our customers and retail outlets.

Our fruit comes mainly from the small to medium size groves – anything from a few hundred trees up to several thousand. Being small has its advantages. As growers we are closely involved in what happens in our groves and, invariably, we care deeply about what we do. Collectively, our present suppliers (including shareholders) have more than 30,000 trees in production now or coming so in the next few years. This ensures that we have the ability to supply substantial quantities of oil and table fruit well into the future without prejudicing quality.

Groves supplying fruit are located throughout the Hunter. (Refer to the list of shareholders below). Having multiple sources of supply from multiple areas helps ensure greater continuity of supply from year to year.
